Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Stanford Graduate School of Education in United States

The Adolescent Ethnic-Racial Identity Development (AERID) Lab at Stanford University, supervised by Dr. Adriana Umaña-Taylor, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a new initiative focused on Identity and Positive Youth Development Across the Globe. The initiative aims to identify universal and context-specific identity-based strengths and disseminate evidence-based programs that foster positive youth development in ethnoracially stratified societies. Projects involve collaborations with researchers in the Global South and Europe, including Colombia, Brazil, Germany, and Italy, to advance both basic and translational research related to the Identity Project—a school-based curriculum designed to support adolescents’ ethnic-racial identity development.

The team is also engaged in efficacy and effectiveness testing of the Identity Project and the E4 Teacher Professional Development program in the United States, seeking effective strategies for educators implementing these programs. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Dr. Umaña-Taylor and a team of equity-focused scholars, contributing to project conceptualization, development, management, grant writing, research design, data collection and analysis, and dissemination of findings through publications and presentations.

Responsibilities also include developing research materials, building community partnerships, and mentoring team members. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology, Human Development, Education, or a related field by August 2026, and possess advanced quantitative analytic skills, experience with longitudinal data, grant writing, project management, and a collaborative spirit. Preference is given to candidates with first-authored publications, strong academic writing in English, experience managing multi-site projects, and proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.

The position offers a competitive salary ($80,000–$82,000) for one year, with possible renewal.
