About this position

Duke University School of Medicine, ranked among the top medical schools in the United States, is seeking a postdoctoral associate to join the Department of Biochemistry in the laboratory of Dr. Kate Meyer. The lab focuses on cutting-edge research projects investigating RNA biology, with a particular emphasis on the m6A modification and gene regulation.

The successful candidate will lead one or more research projects and perform a variety of scientific experiments, including mammalian cell culture, cloning, targeted mutagenesis, protein assays (such as immunoblots and immunoprecipitations), RT-PCR, RNA analyses, cell transfections, sequencing data analysis (RNA-seq), and RNA modification profiling. The position is fully onsite at Duke University School of Medicine, a world-class academic medical center known for its interdisciplinary collaboration and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Applicants must hold a PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.

Preferred candidates will have experience in gene regulation and/or RNA biology. Responsibilities include conducting rigorous research, maintaining laboratory records, presenting data at lab meetings, and collaborating with other Duke scientists and core laboratories.
