About this position

The University of Luxembourg, a modern and international research university, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Applied Artificial Intelligence to join the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT). The successful candidate will work within the Security, Reasoning and Validation (Serval) research group, contributing to a partnership project with the European Stability Market (ESM).

The research focuses on the application of machine learning for official statistics, including topics such as AI-assisted bond issuance, causal methods for enhanced market intelligence, and automated market research summaries using RAG-enabled AI. The role involves exploring the feasibility and benefits of new-generation AI, particularly large language models and agentic AI systems, through prototype implementations. Responsibilities include conducting literature surveys, developing experimental and simulation facilities, planning and analyzing experiments, supporting PhD students, and disseminating research findings at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications.

Applicants must have a PhD in Computer Science with expertise in applied machine learning, statistical methods, or software engineering, along with strong programming and analytical skills. Industry experience in ICT is advantageous. The position offers a fixed-term contract of 24 months, with a yearly gross salary of EUR 85,176.
