Postdoctoral Researcher in Chemical Recycling of Plastic Waste, Catalytic Cracking, and Chlorine Removal Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology in South Korea

Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) is hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on chemical recycling of plastic waste, with a focus on catalytic cracking into light olefins and chlorine removal from waste plastic pyrolysis oil.

The research program includes catalyst development for waste-plastic conversion, preparation and evaluation of chlorine-removal materials, catalyst characterization, product analysis, and manuscript preparation. This is a strong fit for candidates with backgrounds in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related fields, especially those with experience in thermochemical catalysts, catalytic pyrolysis, dechlorination, adsorbents, or hydrocarbon upgrading.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a Ph.D. obtained within the past seven years, have relevant research experience, and be able to work independently and collaboratively. The expected start dates are September 1, 2026 or March 1, 2027.
