About this position

This postdoctoral position at Université Paris-Saclay, hosted by the Centre for Research in Epidemiology and Population Health (CESP, INSERM U1018), offers an exciting opportunity to join a leading research team in environmental epidemiology and biostatistics. The research focus is on the impact of environmental exposures—such as endocrine disruptors, air pollution, and nutrition—on the risk and severity of autoimmune rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), giant cell arteritis (GCA), and polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). The main project utilizes large-scale population cohorts, including the E3N cohort of French women and the EPIC EU consortium, to assess disease risk factors.

Key activities include advanced epidemiological and statistical analysis (Cox models, survival analysis, stratified analyses, splines), management of large epidemiological datasets, and collaboration with experts in epidemiology, biostatistics, and exposure science. The postdoctoral researcher will also contribute to scientific writing, publications, conference presentations, and grant applications. There is potential to supervise master's or PhD students and participate in internal seminars and training workshops.

Applicants must have a PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Health Data Science, with experience in medical or environmental research considered an asset. Required skills include statistical analysis, data management, programming in R (SAS is a plus), strong analytical and organizational abilities, and excellent communication skills in English (French is a plus). Expertise in pharmacoepidemiology and SNDS is regarded as a plus.

The position is funded for 12–24 months, with a competitive salary based on experience and INSERM standards. The start date is the first semester of 2026. The research environment is dynamic and multidisciplinary, offering opportunities for professional development and continuous training.

To apply, candidates should submit a detailed CV, cover letter, references, and key publications to Pr Raphaèle Seror and Pr Carine Salliot. For more information, visit the CESP website or contact the supervisors directly.
