About this position
The University of Bordeaux is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the ERC-funded KINTSUGI project, focusing on advanced research in lung diseases within the Cardio-Thoracic Research Center of Bordeaux (CRCTB). The successful candidate will join the 'COPD' group in the 'Bronchial Remodeling' team, supervised by Professor Isabelle Dupin.
The research involves developing a cellular atlas of the pulmonary submucosal gland niche and performing single-cell transcriptomic analysis of organoid models, with results correlated to clinical data, especially donor resilience status. The role includes spatial and morphometric analysis of bronchial structures using artificial intelligence models based on H&E images, and the development of mathematical models in collaboration with mathematicians. Key activities encompass clustering and annotation of single-cell data, analysis of transcriptomic signatures and differentiation trajectories, cellular interaction studies, and construction of gene regulatory networks using SCENIC and GRaNPA tools.
The position also involves spatial transcriptomic analysis, formatting results, and contributing to scientific publications. The post offers a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment with access to extensive benefits, including generous annual leave, remote work options, public transport subsidies, health insurance contributions, subsidized meals, and cultural and sports activities. Applicants must hold a PhD, preferably with expertise in bioinformatics, engineering in biology, and experience in spatial transcriptomics, image analysis, and computational tools. Proficiency in English and strong scientific writing skills are required.
The position is funded by Horizon Europe - ERC, with a contract starting February 2026. Applications are open until December 6, 2025, and should be submitted via the provided online portal or email. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
