The University of Luxembourg is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in sociology to join the Centre for Childhood and Youth Research (CCY) within the Department of Social Sciences. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof.

Dr. Robin Samuel, analyzing data from the Youth Survey Luxembourg (YSL), which covers topics such as attitudes, digitality, health, political participation, and values among young people. The research aims to understand how social background shapes life chances in Luxembourg’s diverse society.

Responsibilities include conducting policy-relevant research using quantitative analyses of YSL and comparative datasets, publishing findings in academic journals and reports, contributing to the design and data collection of future YSL waves, disseminating results to stakeholders, presenting research at conferences, and contributing to funding applications. The CCY is a multidisciplinary group with strong links to national and international research institutes and organizations. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in sociology or a related social science, expertise in data collection and advanced statistical analysis, and proficiency in data analysis software (R, Stata, Python, SPSS). Proficiency in at least two of English, French, or German is required; Luxembourgish is an asset.

The position offers a fixed-term contract for 24 months, full-time, with a yearly gross salary of EUR 83,099.
