Maastricht University is advertising a 2-year full-time postdoctoral researcher position in the Philosophy Department as part of the new Hype Studies initiative. The role is titled Postdoctoral Researcher on the Politics of Sociotechnical Futures (Hype Studies) and is based in Maastricht, Netherlands.

The successful candidate will work with the Hype Studies research network, supporting and helping grow an emerging transdisciplinary community focused on hype as a powerful phenomenon shaping economic trends, political agendas, media narratives, technological developments, attention, markets, politics, emotion, imagination, matter, knowledge, time, and space. The post combines 75% independent research with 25% teaching across the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
