About this position

The Nanomaterials Engineering Research Group at the Institute for Chemical and Bioengineering, ETH Zürich, is seeking 1–2 postdoctoral researchers or senior scientists to join their interdisciplinary team. The group focuses on the physics and chemistry of soft electronic materials, aiming to develop new optoelectronic devices and integrated systems. The research centers on nanoscale organic semiconductor optoelectronic devices, where nanopatterned organic or halide perovskite semiconductors are coupled with plasmonic or dielectric resonators to create electroluminescent metasurfaces and electrically-pumped lasers. The goal is to fabricate nanoscale light-emitting diodes (Nano-LEDs) and nanolasers in a scalable manner for integration with CMOS technology.

Successful candidates will have a strong academic background, a proven publication record, and extensive experience in nanoscale device fabrication, nanophotonics, and high-frequency optoelectronic characterization. The position involves significant teamwork and coordination with other PhD students and senior scientists, requiring both collaborative spirit and research independence. ETH Zürich is renowned for its excellence in science and technology, offering a diverse and inclusive environment that promotes independent thinking and sustainability.

The university values equality of opportunity and is committed to a climate-neutral future. Applicants are required to submit their application online, including a CV, a brief statement of research interests, a summary of research experience, and contact information for three referees. Applications sent via email or postal services will not be considered.
