About this position

Örebro University invites applications for up to two postdoctoral researcher positions in Computer Science, specializing in Cybersecurity, at the School of Science and Technology. The successful candidates will join the Department of Computer Science and contribute to cutting-edge research in cybersecurity, with broad topical coverage including AI security, cyber-physical systems, telecommunications security, web and systems security, user authentication, privacy, and regulatory compliance. Research areas of interest span attacks and defenses leveraging AI, security of generative AI and LLMs, robotics and smart grids security, 5G/6G and future Internet paradigms, biometrics, CAPTCHA, and privacy inference, as well as the intersection of regulatory and technical aspects such as EU NIS-2 Directive compliance.

Postdoctoral researchers will be affiliated with the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP), Sweden’s largest research initiative in AI and autonomous systems. WASP offers a vibrant research environment focused on AI, autonomous systems, and software, fostering collaboration and innovation for the benefit of Swedish society and industry. The position is full-time for two (or three) years, with possible extension for parental leave or illness. Salary is determined by qualifications and experience. Duties include consolidating research skills, publishing, and contributing up to 20% of time to departmental teaching. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent foreign degree) at the time of appointment, preferably awarded within the last three years. Candidates should have a strong publication record in cybersecurity, expertise in system, network, or AI/ML security, and a passion for advanced and interdisciplinary research. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively and ethically.
