About this position

KAIST’s Sustainable Materials Institute for the Post-AI Era (SMI-PAI) is hiring postdoctoral researchers to join a highly interdisciplinary lab focused on healthcare materials, wearable electronics, and implantable electronics. The research environment combines materials science, bioelectronics, and AI for hardware systems, with applications in health monitoring, disease diagnosis and therapy, and advanced soft devices.

Ideal candidates should have a Ph.D. awarded within the last 5 years and a strong background in one or more of the following areas: flexible/stretchable electronics, functional materials, sensors and actuators, circuit design and system integration, or AI for hardware systems. Experience in micro/nano fabrication is highly preferred.

The position is based at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The post advertises a start date as early as May 1, 2026 and offers compensation of about KRW 90M per year. Interested applicants should contact [email protected] and review the linked lab website and post for additional details.

Research themes highlighted on the lab site include soft bio-integrated electronics, wearable skin electronics, implantable soft devices for the brain and heart, and transformative electronics for healthcare and biomedicine.
