Postdoctoral Scientist in Paediatric HIV, Immunology, and Vaccine Research at University of Oxford University of Oxford in United Kingdom

The University of Oxford Department of Paediatrics is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the Paediatric HIV Research Group, located at the Peter Medawar Building for Pathogen Research. This position is part of a major NIH-funded programme focused on investigating immune sex differences in infancy, utilizing advanced single-cell and multi-omics approaches in international birth and paediatric cohorts. The research aims to understand how the immune system develops in early life, with a particular emphasis on vaccine responses and paediatric HIV.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate components of an international research programme linking Oxford and South Africa, perform immune profiling using flow cytometry, scRNA-seq, genomics, and epigenomics, and analyze immune responses to infection and vaccination in early life. Responsibilities also include contributing to experimental design, hypothesis testing, data interpretation, publishing high-quality research, presenting findings, and supporting the training and supervision of junior researchers and students.

Applicants must hold a PhD in immunology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related field, with strong expertise in cellular immunology and molecular/genomic techniques. Experience with complex datasets, collaborative research teams, an excellent publication record, and strong scientific communication skills are required. Enthusiasm for global health, vaccines, and paediatric research is essential.
