The Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University, Sweden, is seeking applications for a permanent, full-time Professor position in Peace and Conflict Research. The department focuses on the multidisciplinary study of the causes, dynamics, and resolution of violent conflict and peace, integrating theory, methods, and empirical research. Research topics include political violence, international relations, and security studies.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for research and doctoral education in the field, as well as teaching and supervision at all levels. The position allows for significant time dedicated to personal research, with eligibility for a paid sabbatical every six years. The appointee is expected to lead research projects, secure research funding, and engage with both academic and non-academic communities. Administrative and management duties within the department may also be required.

Applicants must demonstrate internationally recognized research and teaching expertise, including independent research contributions, leadership in research, and a strong record of supervising doctoral, master's, and undergraduate students.
