About this position
CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR-CSMCRI), Bhavnagar, is inviting applications for Project Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions under a DBT-sponsored project titled “Development of multiproduct catalytic biorefinery for the integrated production of potassic chemicals, nutraceuticals and feed from green seaweed Ulva”.
The project sits at the intersection of chemistry, marine biotechnology, biorefinery, and seaweed-based value addition. It is aimed at developing integrated catalytic processing routes for green seaweed Ulva to produce potassic chemicals, nutraceuticals, and feed products. The announcement includes two JRF posts: one based in Bhavnagar and one at MARS, Mandapam, Tamil Nadu.
Eligibility highlights: For the Bhavnagar post, candidates should have an M.Sc. in Chemistry or Chemical Sciences. For the Mandapam post, candidates should have an M.Sc. in Marine Science, Marine Biology, Marine Biotechnology, Oceanography, Geology, Coastal Area Studies, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Plant Biology, Plant Biotechnology, or Biochemistry. The age limit is 28 years for Project JRF, with relaxation as per DBT/CSIR/institute norms.
Funding: The fellowship/emolument will be as per DBT/CSIR/institute norms. The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
