Quantum Science & Technology Bavarian universities, MPQ, LMU, TUM in Germany

The International Max Planck Research School for Quantum Science and Technology (IMPRS-QST) and the Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) Doctoral Fellowship Program are offering fully funded PhD fellowships in quantum science and technology. The programs are based in Munich, Germany, and allow students to choose research groups across Bavarian universities and institutes such as MPQ, LMU, and TUM. Research areas include atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics, quantum optics, condensed matter, quantum information science, quantum computing, materials science, electrical engineering, computer science, and related fields. The fellowships are fully funded for three years with no tuition fees.

Applicants should have a strong background in physics, engineering, computer science, or a closely related field, and demonstrate a keen interest in quantum science and technology. The application deadline is January 15, 2026, and the program start date is by agreement in 2026.
