About this position
Fully-funded PhD position available at The University of Edinburgh ??How dedicated are you to saving the world ??? Our group (Pierre Estève-Bourrel) has already shown that using hashtag#earthen materials, with hashtag#carbon sequestration, is the ONLY way to meet hashtag#NetZero ?? carbon targets for domestic construction. Through funding from The Leverhulme Trust, we have an opportunity to explore rammed earthen construction incorporating iron ore tailings - RIOT. This project is a synergistic collaboration between architects and engineers that will create a new knowledge base in Brazil to accelerate the use of resilient materials for construction. The research will explore RIOT's behaviour when exposed to fire ??, water ??, and how we can protect reinforcement whilst controlling environmental impacts and keeping embodied energy low ??.Apply here: https://lnkd.in/e-6udZvehashtag#research hashtag#UNSDGs hashtag#sustainable hashtag#carbon…more
