Research Assistant in Cell Biology and Drug Development at University of Gothenburg University of Gothenburg in Sweden

The University of Gothenburg in Sweden is seeking a Research Assistant in Cell Biology and Drug Development, with a focus on supporting ongoing projects at the OligoNova Hub. OligoNova is a national research infrastructure that provides resources for academic researchers in Sweden to develop new oligonucleotide-based drugs. The position is based within the Core Facilities at the university and is also part of the SciLifeLab drug development platform.

The successful candidate will work on projects involving cell line cultivation from various organisms, qPCR, NGS library preparation, Western blotting, plate-based cell assays, and other molecular and cell biology techniques. The role requires a bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a closely related field, with documented experience in molecular biology techniques, especially gene expression analysis. Experience in therapeutic oligonucleotides research and/or drug development is advantageous. Additional merits include practical experience with cell culture, laboratory automation (such as Echo, CertusFlex, or Hamilton systems), qPCR analysis using QuantStudio 7 Pro, protein analysis, and strong English communication skills.

The position is a fixed-term contract for 3 months at 80% of full-time, starting April 1, 2026, or as agreed. The selection process is based on submitted documents, interviews, and references.
