About this position

Khalifa University, located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is offering a Research Assistant/Research Associate position in the field of iPSC brain organoids and multiple sclerosis research. The position is based in the lab of Assistant Professor Nemat Khan, in collaboration with Dr. Ruqqia Mir from the ADSCC Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center and international partners. The research focuses on translational approaches to neuroprotection and multiple sclerosis, utilizing advanced techniques such as iPSC culture, brain organoid development, and molecular biology.

Applicants should have hands-on experience with iPSC culture, iPSC-derived brain organoids, oligodendrocyte culture and differentiation, mammalian cell culture, molecular biology techniques, Western blot, RT qPCR, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and confocal microscopy. Additional strengths include experience with clinical samples (PBMCs), MS patient-focused or neurodegeneration research, patient recruitment, hospital coordination, and clinical data collection.

The position is a 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension up to 3 years. The research environment is collaborative, involving both local and international partners, and offers opportunities to contribute to impactful work in neurodegenerative disease research.
