About this position

The Bosch Research and Technology Center North America is seeking a talented researcher or engineer to join their Cyber-Physical AI and Reasoning group in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This group focuses on developing intelligent systems that tightly integrate learning, reasoning, perception, and physical interaction, with applications spanning robotics, automation, manufacturing, and intelligent devices. The mission is to build safe, robust, and adaptive cyber-physical systems that operate reliably in real-world environments.

Key research and development areas include embodied and cyber-physical AI, robot learning and control, dexterous manipulation, human–machine interaction, hybrid and model-based AI, world models, safety-aware learning, multimodal and foundation models, and embedded intelligence for real-time systems. The team works on integrating learning algorithms with sensors, actuators, and control stacks, as well as sim-to-real transfer and deployment on physical platforms.

Responsibilities for this position include defining and investigating problems in Cyber-Physical AI & Reasoning, designing and evaluating learning-based or hybrid AI systems, developing experimental pipelines, analyzing system performance, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Contributions may include research publications, technical reports, industrial patents, and prototypes deployed in labs or production environments.

Applicants should have a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, with a strong foundation in AI/ML, cyber-physical systems, robotics, and control. Experience with programming, experimental system development, and relevant technical skills is required. Preferred qualifications include experience with robotic hardware, embedded or real-time systems, multimodal foundation models, hybrid or model-based AI methods, and prior research or technical reports.

This is a full-time employment opportunity at Robert Bosch LLC, offering standard compensation and benefits. The position is ideal for early-career researchers and engineers interested in bridging AI research and real-world engineering, and those excited about deploying AI systems beyond simulation.
