About this position

Google Beam, formerly known as Project Starline, is seeking Student Researchers for internship positions in areas such as computer vision, machine learning, and computer graphics. The team is focused on real-time, high-realism, dynamic 3D modeling, relighting, materials reconstruction, novel view synthesis, diffusion models, and transformers. These internships are open to students pursuing PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science or related technical fields, including Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, and Natural Sciences.

Interns will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects that drive scientific advancement and contribute to the development of breakthrough technologies in AI-first video communication. Google Beam leverages the latest in AI, 3D imaging, and light field rendering to create immersive, life-sized remote communication experiences. The program offers flexible time commitments, durations, and options for onsite or remote work, depending on project and host needs. Start dates typically range from January through July, and applicants must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Applicants should have experience in at least one area of computer science, such as Natural Language Understanding, Human Computer Interactions, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations, Quantum Information Science, Data Science, or Software Engineering. Preferred candidates will be enrolled full-time in a US degree program, have prior research experience, and demonstrate proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, or C/C++. English proficiency is required.

The internship is paid, with a US base salary range of $92,000-$122,000, depending on role, level, and location. The program is non-conversion eligible, meaning it does not lead to full-time employment. Additional benefits may be available according to Google policy. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and priority is given to those received by March 6, 2026. The final deadline is July 17, 2026, but the window may close earlier if all positions are filled.

To apply, candidates should complete the appropriate application form for their degree level and email [email protected] with their CV and relevant information, including specific project interests. For more information, visit the Google Beam website or the official job posting. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in advancing the state of the art in computing and contributing to the next generation of intelligent systems at Google.
