About this position
PhD Student Position Available in Verdi Water Management Group in the Environmental Sciences Department at the University of California Riverside for Fall 2025
I am seeking a highly motivated PhD student for an interdisciplinary research project focusing on the sustainable use of recycled water in food production.
This project addresses critical challenges in minimizing PFAS and other organic contaminants in agricultural systems.
The successful candidate will lead greenhouse and field deficit irrigation trials. They will also be expected to collaborate closely with other project members across multiple UC campuses, specializing in water treatment technology, soil bacterial community analysis, and the fate and transport of contaminants in the soil-plant system.
Applicants must be currently based in the United States. A Master’s degree from a reputable U.S. institution in agricultural engineering, agronomy, soil science, environmental science, or a related field is required. A strong background in irrigation management and environmental contamination research is preferred.
Interested candidates should submit their transcripts, CV, and cover letter to me via email ( [email protected] ).
