CERN Technical Studentship in IT, Mathematics & Robotics is open in Geneva, Switzerland for students currently enrolled in Computer Science, Mathematics, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.

This is a hands-on technical training opportunity at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, where selected students support projects in information technologies, mathematics, robotics, software development, and computing infrastructure under close supervision.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must have completed at least 18 months of study (3 semesters), remain enrolled as a full-time student, and be required or encouraged by their university to complete a practical training period. PhD students and PhD holders are not eligible. Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, and the post notes a restriction for Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date. Good knowledge of English or French is required.

Funding and benefits: the studentship is fully funded with a monthly net allowance of 3486 Swiss Francs. CERN also provides 30 days of paid leave per year, 2 weeks of annual closure, health insurance coverage, and possible family/travel-related benefits depending on individual circumstances.

Start and duration: ideal start date is 01/01/2027, with a contract duration of 4 to 12 months. The role is fully onsite.
