The University of Graz invites applications for a University Assistant with Doctorate (Postdoc) position in the Department of Accounting and Taxation. This full-time, temporary position offers an annual gross salary of at least €70,200.20, with the possibility of overpayment based on qualifications and experience. The contract is limited until July 31, 2027, and employment is set to begin on August 3, 2026.
The successful candidate will conduct independent research projects in accounting and taxation, with a particular emphasis on analytical modeling. Responsibilities include publishing research findings in internationally recognized peer-reviewed academic journals, actively contributing to ongoing research projects, and independently designing new research initiatives. The role also involves participating in the preparation and submission of grant proposals for national and international third-party funded projects (such as FWF and EU grants).
Teaching duties include independently preparing and delivering courses in accounting and taxation, providing academic and organizational support to students, and supervising bachelor’s theses. The position also requires contributing to general organizational and administrative tasks, supporting the implementation of evaluation measures for quality assurance, and assisting with administrative duties related to the institute’s research and teaching activities.
Applicants must hold a completed doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Business Administration, Management, or Economics with a relevant specialization. Strong expertise in analytical modeling, evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed academic journals, is required. Independent teaching experience in accounting and taxation is necessary, along with excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken. Very good IT skills, particularly in MS Office, LaTeX, SQL, and Mathematica or comparable software, are expected. Experience working within a university environment and didactic skills for delivering academic courses are required. Applicants should demonstrate strong teamwork, motivation, intellectual curiosity, initiative, and dedication.
