Northern Illinois University is hiring a Visiting Assistant Professor in Structural Geology for the 2026–27 academic year. This is a one-year, full-time faculty appointment in the Department of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at Northern Illinois University in the United States.

The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in physical geology or planetary geology, plus intermediate- and advanced-level courses in structural geology and tectonics based on their expertise. The department welcomes applicants with interests in structural geology, tectonics, geomorphology, and/or volcanology.

The posting notes that the department has strong facilities, including analytical instruments such as an electron microprobe and XRF, and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. programs. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in geology or Earth science at the time of appointment.
