WaterSoftHack 2026 is a cybertraining program designed for the next generation of water science and engineering researchers, focusing on cloud and edge computing applications. Hosted virtually by Clemson University in collaboration with Tulane University, University of Iowa, and CUAHSI, this NSF-funded initiative provides hands-on experience in running machine learning models, designing scalable workflows, and deploying models efficiently for water research. The program is open to graduate and undergraduate students, postdocs, engineers, professionals, and early-career faculty who are eager to enhance their skills in computational water science and informatics. Over the past two years, WaterSoftHack has trained more than 350 participants and mentored 27 fellows, with several alumni advancing to tenure-track faculty positions in the U.S. The 2026 session runs from July 20–31, with applications open from February 9 to March 31, 2026. No specific prerequisites are required, but applicants should have a strong interest in water science, engineering, and computational methods.
