Two-year Postdoc Positions in Applied Economics and Social Sciences at Gran Sasso Science Institute

Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI) is advertising two two-year postdoctoral research positions (contratti di ricerca) in the Social Sciences Area under the supervision of Prof. Alessandra Faggian in Applied Economics . Position 1 focuses on the project “Resilience Discovery: Exploring Italy’s Inner Territories in the Face of Disasters and Development” (INNER) . The ideal candidate should have a research profile in the empirical analysis of territorial, socio-economic, and demographic dynamics, with particular attention to local development. Skills in geographic data science, spatial analysis, georeferenced data management, and quantitative methods for territorial analysis are an asset. Position 2 focuses on the project “REDI Evaluation of the reconstruction process post 2016 earthquake in Central Italy” (EVAL) . The preferred profile includes empirical analysis of socio-economic processes, quantitative methods for territorial, socio-economic, and administrative data, and familiarity with empirical approaches to public policy evaluation. Experience with heterogeneous data sources is valued. Both positions are full-time for 2 years , possibly renewable and/or extendable within the limits of current legislation. The annual gross amounts are €50,000 and €53,750 . Knowledge of English is required. The selection procedure may include an oral interview.
