Postdoctoral Position in Quantum Entanglement Catalysis at Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences

The Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland, invites applications for a postdoctoral position within the OPUS NCN project titled “Advancing entanglement catalysis: Foundations and applications in quantum information science” (UMO-2024/55/B/ST2/01590). The successful candidate will join the research team led by Professor Alexander Streltsov, focusing on the applications of quantum catalysis in entanglement and general quantum resource theories. Research directions include the investigation of catalytic effects in quantum communication and computation protocols, as well as the study of entanglement catalysis in multipartite systems. The position offers opportunities for collaboration with other theoretical and experimental groups within Warsaw’s vibrant research community. The appointment is for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The remuneration is up to 15,000 PLN gross per month, depending on experience. The position is not funded by the EU Research Framework Programme. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in engineering, physics, or a related area, obtained in the year of employment or within 12 years prior to January 1 of the year of employment. The PhD must be from an institution other than the one offering the position, or the candidate must have completed at least a 10-month continuous postdoctoral fellowship at a different institution and in a country other than where the PhD was obtained. Candidates should demonstrate strong expertise in quantum resource theories, entanglement catalysis, or multipartite entanglement, proven by publications or preprints. Good command of English is required. Additional eligibility rules apply regarding remuneration and employment status during the contract period. Application materials include a motivation letter, CV, publication list with citation and Hirsch index, PhD certificate or proof of imminent completion, contact details for two senior researchers, and a signed GDPR consent statement. Please include the announcement number BSP-DSP.111.6.2026 in your application. Applications should be sent by email to [email protected].
