PhD Position in Multi-Band Fusion for Integrated Imaging and Communications at TU Delft

PhD opportunity at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in Multi-Band Fusion for Integrated Imaging and Communications , within the Microwave Sensing, Signals and Systems (MS3) group in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS). This project sits at the intersection of electromagnetic scattering , radar imaging , advanced radio signal processing , wireless systems , and deep learning . The research aims to develop radio imaging algorithms for next-generation Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) systems, leveraging multiple disjoint frequency bands from below GHz to millimeter-wave frequencies. The work targets high-impact applications such as healthcare, human motion sensing, infrastructure monitoring, and environmental monitoring. You will work with the MS3 group, which has strong expertise in microwave and radar technology and access to advanced laboratory infrastructure, including radar setups for indoor and outdoor sensing experiments. The project combines theory, algorithm design, and analysis of experimental data, with collaboration opportunities across Europe. Eligibility highlights: MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Microwave Engineering, or a related field; strong background in signal processing and wireless systems; electromagnetics knowledge is highly valued; programming experience in MATLAB or Python; interest in experimental research; strong analytical and communication skills. Funding and conditions: This is a paid PhD employment position, not a scholarship. The contract is for 4 years in principle, with salary from €3059 to €3881 gross per month, plus holiday allowance and end-of-year bonus. TU Delft also provides support such as health insurance discounts and relocation assistance. Deadline: 1 July 2026. Apply through the AcademicTransfer vacancy page and submit the requested documents, including CV, motivational letter, MSc thesis abstract, and publications if applicable. Supervisor/contact: Prof. Dr Alexander Yarovoy, Chairman of MS3, [email protected].
