Postdoctoral Research Associate in Economics, Regional Economics, and Economic Impact Analysis

Florida Gulf Coast University’s Regional Economic Research Institute (RERI) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Economics / Applied Economics , with strong relevance to regional economics , economic impact analysis , econometrics , statistics , demography , sociology , geography , and GIS/spatial analysis . The position is based in Fort Myers, Florida, USA , and reports directly to Dr. Amir B. Ferreira Neto , Director of RERI. The postdoc will conduct economic research, write briefs and impact studies, manage and analyze data, prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, and contribute to grant proposals and externally funded projects. The role also includes opportunities for independent research, publication development, and teaching one 3-credit course per semester. Research areas and tools: economic and econometric research, fiscal and economic impact analysis, regional economics, input-output modeling (IMPLAN, REMI), R, Python, Stata, Excel, Qualtrics, and GIS/spatial data. Eligibility highlights: PhD or ABD expected to complete by June 1, 2027 in a relevant field. Preferred background includes Economics, Applied Economics, Geography, Demography, Sociology, or related disciplines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, along with experience publishing research, presenting to diverse audiences, and working on grant-funded projects. Funding and duration: This is a 12-month appointment with salary based on skills and experience. Renewal may be possible depending on performance and external funding.
