Postdoctoral Fellowship in Functional Nanomaterials for Women Scientists (KSCSTE Back-to-Lab) at BITS Pilani Hyderabad

The Fun.Nano.Mat (Functional Nanomaterials) Lab at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani Hyderabad Campus, led by Assistant Professor Amrita Bhattacharyya Chakraborty, is inviting applications from women scientists for the KSCSTE Back-to-Lab Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2025–26). This unique opportunity is designed for women researchers from Kerala who have taken a career break of at least one year after completing their Ph.D. in Science or Engineering due to family or personal commitments and are now seeking to return to active research. The research areas in the lab include the synthesis and application of metallic and non-metallic nanoparticles, noble metal nanoclusters, advanced optical and electron microscopy, spectroscopy, biosensing, and catalysis, with a strong emphasis on energy applications of nanomaterials. The lab provides a vibrant research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities. Eligibility criteria, as per KSCSTE, require applicants to be women with a Ph.D. in Science or Engineering, currently unemployed, and permanent residents (domicile) of Kerala. A minimum career break of one year post-Ph.D. is mandatory. The fellowship offers a monthly stipend of ₹60,000 and an annual contingency grant of ₹75,000, with a maximum duration of two years. This program is an excellent opportunity for women scientists to re-enter the research ecosystem and contribute to cutting-edge advancements in nanomaterials and related fields. The application deadline is December 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM (extended). Interested candidates should send an email to [email protected] with their CV and supporting documents. For more information, candidates are encouraged to visit the lab's website and review the KSCSTE Back-to-Lab Fellowship guidelines. The lab also welcomes PhD and Postdoc candidates with their own fellowships (CSIR, UGC, INSPIRE, NPDF, etc.).
