The University of Aveiro is recruiting for a First Level Doctorate Researcher position in Environmental Sciences and Engineering, based at the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies. This postdoctoral role is part of the Waste2Catalyst Project, which focuses on developing innovative, low-cost catalysts from waste materials for use in advanced oxidation processes to degrade pharmaceutical compounds in wastewater. The project is supported by the Operational Program COMPETE 2030 (Innovation and Digital Transition Program, FEDER/FNR component) and the Foundation for Science and Technology (State Budget component). The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research aimed at environmental protection and sustainable technology, contributing to the development of new solutions for water pollution and pharmaceutical residue management. The position offers a monthly salary of 2351.53€, with a temporary full-time contract governed by Portuguese labor law. Applicants must hold a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering and demonstrate a strong scientific and professional track record relevant to the project.
