PhD Student Doctoral Colloquium and Conference in Accounting at Prague University of Economics and Business

The European Accounting Association (EAA) invites applications for its 42nd Doctoral Colloquium in Accounting, to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, from 23–26 May 2026, immediately preceding the 48th Annual EAA Congress (27–29 May 2026). Hosted by the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE), this event offers a unique opportunity for doctoral students in accounting to present and discuss their research with an international faculty and peers. The colloquium is co-chaired by Professors Andrea Mennicken (King’s College London), Alexandra Van den Abbeele (KU Leuven), and David Veenman (University of Amsterdam), with additional faculty from leading institutions across Europe and the US. The program includes plenary sessions, group activities, and parallel tracks covering corporate reporting, auditing, taxation, management accounting, information systems, and social and historical perspectives on accounting. Social events foster networking among students and faculty. Applicants must be PhD students in accounting, ideally in the later stages of their doctoral studies (beyond the second year) and should have at least one working paper. Required application materials include a CV (with research field and methods specified), a 3-page extended abstract of current research, and a completed advisor questionnaire (template provided). EAA membership for 2026 is mandatory for submission. All selected students must attend the EAA Congress following the colloquium. Funding includes hotel accommodation for the colloquium (three nights) and free registration for the EAA Congress. The first 200 PhD students to qualify receive a €200 discount on the registration fee. Students are responsible for their own travel and accommodation for the main Congress. The submission deadline for the Doctoral Colloquium is 30 November 2025. For the main Congress call for papers, the deadline is 1 December 2025. For more information and to apply, visit the EAA Congress 2026 website. Contact Ms. Marion Hebbelynck at marion.hebbelynck@eiasm.be for administrative queries.
