Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Qualitative Research and Knowledge Mobilization on Migration and Labour Market Integration

Toronto Metropolitan University’s Global Migration Institute is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in qualitative research and knowledge mobilization on migration and labour market integration in Canada . The fellow will join the BMO Newcomer Workforce Integration Lab and work with Professor Anna Triandafyllidou and Dr. Marshia Akbar . The role is based in Toronto, Canada , is in person only , and runs for 2 years . Research activities include literature reviews, semi-structured interviews, focus groups, stakeholder consultations, policy scans, qualitative data analysis using NVivo , mixed-methods support, research ethics documentation, reports, policy briefs, academic papers, presentations, workshops, webinars, and broader knowledge mobilization. The lab’s themes include labour migration , immigrant employment integration , international students , temporary migration , skills recognition , workplace inclusion , employer practices , and the role of digital technologies and AI in hiring and workforce integration. Eligibility: applicants must hold a PhD in Sociology , Geography , Migration Studies , Public Policy , Political Science , or a related social science field with a strong migration/labour integration focus. Strong qualitative research, academic writing, collaboration, and policy/community-engaged research experience are expected. Experience with knowledge mobilization, grant writing, international research, and languages other than English are assets. Funding: $65,000/year plus benefits .
