The University of Western Australia (UWA) is recruiting multiple Assistant Professor and Senior Assistant Professor positions for its new India campuses in Chennai and Mumbai. These are full-time, tenurable appointments within the Department of Business, UWA India, which is closely aligned with the UWA Business School—one of Australia’s leading business schools. The department delivers high-quality degree programs in economics, business, and management, and advances impactful, world-class research.
Successful candidates will contribute to teaching and research in economics, econometrics, statistics, finance, management, human resource management, organisational behaviour, business communication, entrepreneurship, innovation, and marketing. The curriculum emphasizes quantitative analysis, economic modelling, data analysis, and applied economic decision-making, equipping graduates for policy, business, and research roles.
Assistant Professors will focus on delivering approved units, developing a research profile, participating in research funding applications, and supervising students. Senior Assistant Professors will lead curriculum design, undertake independent and collaborative research, supervise research students, and mentor junior staff. Both roles require a PhD (or near completion) in Economics or a related field, a demonstrated ability to publish in international peer-reviewed journals, and the capacity to teach independently in the listed subject areas. Senior candidates should have a strong research track record and experience in research funding and student supervision.
