PhD Position in Perovskite Nanomaterials Synthesis and Characterization at University of Rostock

University of Rostock is advertising a PhD-oriented Research Assistant position in the Institute of Physics , Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, within the working group of Nanostructures and Nanomaterials and the collaborative research center SFB 1477 LiMatI . The project focuses on physics, chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology , and especially the synthesis and characterization of perovskite nanomaterials . The advertised work includes colloidal chemistry of nanomaterials, development of new synthetic routes for quasi-two-dimensional semiconductor nanomaterials, and detailed characterization using TEM, SEM, AFM, XRD, TCSPC, transient absorption, and UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy . The role also involves building optical research setups, participating in seminars and workshops, publishing results, and contributing to teaching in experimental physics. This is a temporary, funded research assistant position starting 01.07.2026 and ending 31.12.2029 , with 30 hours/week and remuneration at pay group 13 TV-L . The post is explicitly tied to scientific qualification toward a doctorate , so it is effectively a PhD opening rather than a postdoctoral or master's call. Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a completed university degree (master’s, diploma, state exam, or equivalent) in physics, chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, or a related field, with good results. Strong English skills are mandatory, and prior experience in colloidal synthesis, spectroscopy, or electron microscopy is preferred. Deadline: 2026-05-21. Contact: Prof. Dr. Christian Klinke ([email protected]). Note: the LinkedIn poster appears to be sharing the opportunity, but the actual academic contact and hiring unit are at the University of Rostock.
