Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroimmunological Research (Translational Neuroimmunology)
The University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Neuroimmunological Research, focusing on translational neuroimmunology. The institute collaborates closely with the Clinic and Polyclinic for Neurology, integrating clinical care and research.
The successful candidate will independently pursue a research project in translational neuroimmunology, with opportunities to develop and realize independent research strategies. Research topics may include immunology, neurodegeneration, or personalized treatment in multiple sclerosis, utilizing a range of methods from molecular and cell biology to in vivo models. The position is initially limited to three years as part of a third-party funded project and can be filled immediately. The working language in the laboratories is English.
Applicants must hold a completed scientific university degree (biology, biomedicine, biochemistry, psychology, or comparable) and a doctorate (PhD or equivalent). Required expertise includes neurobiology, immunology, neuroimmunology, or behavioral medicine, with documented scientific achievements (ideally first-author publications). Additional advantages include prior postdoc experience in neurobiological or immunological research, bioinformatics skills, and strong English proficiency. Applicants must provide proof of immunization or immunity against the measles virus before employment.
