University Assistant without PhD in Microeconomic Theory (Department of Economics, University of Graz)
The University of Graz invites applications for the position of University Assistant without PhD (m/f/d) in the Department of Economics. This is a four-year, temporary position designed for candidates interested in pursuing a dissertation in Microeconomic Theory, including areas such as Game Theory, Mechanism Design, and Decision Theory. The successful applicant will be supervised by Professor Christoph Kuzmics, a leading researcher in microeconomics.
Responsibilities include writing a dissertation at the University of Graz, participating in research projects within the institute, independent teaching of courses, involvement in teaching and examination tasks, supervision of students, and participation in organizational and administrative duties. The role also encourages cooperation with researchers outside the Department of Economics, including international collaborations.
Applicants must hold a completed diploma or master’s degree in economics, mathematics, mathematical economics, or a related field. Excellent written and spoken English is required, and strong mathematical skills are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate scientific curiosity, initiative, independent working style, teamwork, and organizational skills.
