Postdoctoral Fellow in experimental research on aerosol-cloud interactions

The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland's largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for experimental research on aerosol-cloud interactions. PSI is renowned for its interdisciplinary research in future technologies, energy and climate, health innovation, and fundamental science, employing over 2300 staff and fostering a vibrant academic environment. This position is based in the Atmosphere-Biosphere Interactions group within the Laboratory of Atmospheric Chemistry. The successful candidate will contribute to the construction of a lightweight cloud water sampler and the development of a system for dispersing mineral dust. Key responsibilities include conducting chemical analyses of cloud water and ice samples, participating in cloud-seeding field campaigns, publishing scientific results in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at international conferences, and supporting the supervision of PhD students. Applicants must hold a PhD in Environmental Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences, Physics, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline. Experience in atmospheric experimental research and developing simple experimental setups is essential. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation, teamwork, and excellent organizational and communication skills in English. PSI offers a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative work environment, systematic training on the job, personal development opportunities, and modern employment conditions to support work-life balance.
