Postdoctoral Fellowship in Additive Manufacturing and Aerospace Materials

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Additive Manufacturing and Aerospace Materials under a sponsored research project. The project title is Functionally Graded Multi-Material Low-Pressure Turbine Blades via Laser Directed Energy Deposition . The research is centered on developing functionally graded coatings on additively manufactured Ti-6Al-4V turbine blades using Laser Directed Energy Deposition (DED) , with goals related to wear resistance, fatigue life, and thermal stability for aerospace turbine components. This opportunity is hosted by the Centre of Excellence in Additive Manufacturing (CoE-AM) at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, with international collaboration involving Prof. Colin Hall at Adelaide University, Australia . The post is well suited to researchers interested in metal 3D printing , surface engineering , CAD/CAM , materials science , and advanced manufacturing for aerospace applications. Eligibility: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, CAD/CAM, Production Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline. Preferred experience includes additive manufacturing processes, metal 3D printing, surface engineering, CAD/CAM software, and materials science/manufacturing.
