Postdoc in Synthesis of Conjugated Donor–Acceptor Molecules for Charge-to-Spin Conversion at University of the Basque Country

A postdoctoral research position is available at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of the Basque Country (EHU), Donostia, Spain, under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Reta. The successful candidate will join the ERC Starting Grant RadicalProtON project, focusing on the synthesis of conjugated donor–acceptor molecules and organic radicals. The research aims to develop new strategies for charge-to-spin conversion, with the broader goal of understanding radical reactivity and its implications for biological function. The position is a 1+1-year contract, starting from May 2026 (flexible). Applicants should have a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field, with expertise in organic synthesis, especially in the synthesis of organic radicals or conjugated systems. The project offers an excellent opportunity to work at the interface of organic synthesis, mechanistic chemistry, and materials science, contributing to fundamental advances in the field. The University of the Basque Country provides a stimulating research environment in Spain. The position is funded by the ERC, and the successful candidate will benefit from collaboration within an international research team. The application deadline is April 13, 2026.
