Postdoctoral Position in Nanoarchitectonics on Surfaces Group at IMDEA Nanociencia

A postdoctoral position is available in the Nanoarchitectonics on Surfaces group at Fundación IMDEA Nanociencia, Madrid, led by Prof. David Écija. The group specializes in the design, synthesis, and characterization of quantum organic, metal-organic, and inorganic materials, with a focus on on-surface synthesis of functional organic materials such as molecules, polymers, and two-dimensional networks. Research is aimed at applications in organic semiconductors and utilizes advanced scanning probe techniques, including STM, STS, and nc-AFM, within state-of-the-art ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team and work under the supervision of Prof. David Écija and Dr. Ana Barragán. The position offers a full-time contract (37.5 hours per week) for three years, funded by the MOLQUANTUM-CM SYG-2024/TEC-707 project. IMDEA Nanociencia provides a supportive work environment with a Gender Equality Plan, flexible scheduling, teleworking options, and a commitment to diversity and work-life balance. Applicants must have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, with a strong background in scanning probe techniques under UHV conditions. Candidates should demonstrate initiative, teamwork skills, and a record of scientific publications. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. The application deadline is April 23, 2026. To apply, send your application materials to [email protected] with the subject 'POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN NANOARCHITECTONICS ON SURFACES GROUP'.
