Illuminate Fellowship in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (Postdoc) at Queen's University Belfast

Queen's University Belfast is offering four Illuminate Fellowships for early-career researchers in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. These prestigious fellowships are designed to support outstanding researchers in advancing their academic careers, with a focus on internationally recognised research in areas such as drug delivery and targeting, biomaterials, advanced pharmaceutical manufacture, drug discovery and development, pharmaceutical microbiology, and clinical pharmacy practice. Fellows will join the School of Pharmacy and benefit from a comprehensive support package, including a competitive salary, a Fellowship Enhancement Award of up to £60,000, funding for a full-time PhD studentship, and access to mentoring and networking programmes. The fellowship provides a strategic 3-year pathway to a permanent academic position, contingent on meeting probationary requirements. Applicants must hold a relevant degree and a PhD, with 2-8 years of postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record. The role involves developing and managing major research projects aligned with the School's strategic priorities. Queen's University Belfast is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, offering flexible working options, generous holiday entitlement, pension schemes, and staff wellbeing support. International applicants are welcome but must self-assess visa eligibility. The application deadline is November 24, 2025.
