Postdoctoral Position in Translational Pharmacokinetics and Imaging for Subcutaneous Drug Application
Postdoctoral opening at
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU)
, in cooperation with
Novartis Pharma AG
and the ICON research center. The position is centered on
translational pharmacokinetics
,
biomedical imaging
,
subcutaneous drug application
, and the characterization of
subcutaneous bolus formations
and their translation into
pharmacokinetic (PK) models
.
The project aims to translate findings from
preclinical minipig models
to humans, with a strong focus on understanding tissue structure, injection dynamics, drug distribution, and systemic exposure after subcutaneous administration. The research combines experimental work, imaging-based characterization, quantitative PK/modeling approaches, and comparative analysis of innovative therapeutic modalities such as antibodies, siRNA, conjugates, and highly concentrated formulations.
This is an interdisciplinary academic-industrial position at the interface of university research and pharmaceutical development. The successful candidate will work closely with experts in pharmacokinetics, formulation science, translational medicine, and imaging, with access to LMU and Novartis infrastructure and technologies.
Eligibility highlights:
completed doctorate in a relevant field; strong interest in translational research and/or biomedical imaging; experience with preclinical animal models is advantageous; excellent English; quantitative mindset; teamwork and scientific initiative.
Funding/employment:
fixed-term postdoc position for 3 years with attractive working conditions. The post emphasizes strong publication opportunities, intensive supervision, and a broad academic-industrial network, but does not state a stipend amount.
Application:
submit a motivation letter, CV, publication list, and referee contact details electronically. Contact persons listed in the post are Dr. Karoline Bechtold-Peters, PD Dr. Sebastian Clauss, and Prof. Dr. Eckhard Wolf.
