PhD in Epitranscriptome of Prostate Cancer Progression at Erasmus MC

PhD opportunity at Erasmus MC, Rotterdam in the Laboratory of Experimental Urology within the Erasmus Cancer Institute. This doctoral project (DC13) is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network EURECA and focuses on the epitranscriptome of prostate cancer progression . The research investigates RNA modifications in metastatic prostate cancer, including ribosomal RNA 2’-O-methylation and A-to-I editing , and how these changes contribute to therapy resistance , cancer progression, and future diagnosis and treatment. The work combines cancer research , molecular biology , genetics , oncology , biomedical sciences , and bioinformatics . Methods include advanced molecular biology techniques such as RiboMethSeq , genomic and transcriptomic data analysis, and collaboration in a multidisciplinary international team. The candidate will also take part in international secondments across Europe. Eligibility highlights: a Master’s degree in a relevant field (for example genomics, systems biology, bioinformatics, biomedical sciences, cancer biology, or biotechnology) is required. Applicants must meet MSCA mobility and doctorate eligibility rules, have strong English communication skills, and ideally bring experience in NGS data, transcriptomics, epitranscriptomics, or cancer biology. Funding: fully funded MSCA position with competitive salary, mobility allowance, and where applicable family allowance. Contract is initially 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 48 months. Deadline: 7 June 2026. How to apply: submit your application via the vacancy page/application button.
