Postdoctoral Position in Immunology, Dendritic Cell–T Cell Communication, and Neuro-Immune Circuits at UC San Diego

Open postdoctoral position at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in the Zuniga Lab, led by Professor Elina Zuniga. The lab is recruiting a motivated and creative postdoctoral scholar to join an innovative research program focused on how dendritic cells and T cells communicate among themselves and with non-immune systems to regulate host physiology and outcomes during viral infection. Research themes include mechanisms controlling dendritic cell–T cell spatial regulation in lymphoid and non-lymphoid organs during viral infection, T cell-dependent neuro-immune circuits that regulate host behavior, sickness responses, and disease tolerance, and interactions between T cells, whole-body metabolism, and host physiology. The position is especially relevant for candidates with interests in immunology, biology, neuroscience, medical science, and related experimental and systems-level approaches. The lab highlights a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment, access to state-of-the-art technologies such as single-cell genomics, spatial transcriptomics, high-parameter flow cytometry, and advanced imaging, plus strong mentoring and career development support. The postdoc will also interact with leading investigators across UC San Diego and the La Jolla research community. To apply, candidates should email a brief cover letter describing research experience and career goals, a curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references to [email protected]. No deadline is stated in the post. More information about the lab is available on the UCSD faculty page.
