This opportunity is part of the SEED Center, a collaborative initiative with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and other leading universities across the Global South, focused on advancing research in sustainable energy solutions aligned with SDG 7—Affordable and Clean Energy for All by 2030. The successful candidate will be enrolled at Stellenbosch University and may be co-supervised by Prof. Frank-Martin Belz at TUM. The research will focus on scaling and impact of sustainable enterprises within the mini-grid sector, with connections to Living Labs established across SEED Centers. The scholarship covers a monthly stipend, international mobility grants, research expenses, and conference participation for four years. Applicants must have a Master’s degree in sustainable energies, business management (with entrepreneurship focus), or related fields, obtained within the last six years, and must be nationals of a country in the Global South.
