Anthropic Fellows Program 2026 is a paid 4-month fellowship for technically strong candidates interested in transitioning into AI research and engineering. The program is hosted by Anthropic and is open to candidates in the UK, US, and Canada . Fellows work on empirical projects aligned with Anthropic’s research priorities and aim to produce public outputs such as paper submissions. Research areas / workstreams include AI Safety, AI Security, ML Systems & Performance, Reinforcement Learning, and Economics. The post highlights topics such as scalable oversight, adversarial robustness, AI control, model organisms, mechanistic interpretability, AI welfare, open-source security, distributed systems, large language models, and RL environments. Eligibility highlights : no PhD required, no prior AI industry experience required, fluent Python required, and full-time availability for the 4-month program. Strong backgrounds in computer science, mathematics, or physics are especially valued, with additional relevant experience in economics, cybersecurity, empirical ML research, deep learning frameworks, or open-source contributions depending on the workstream. Funding : weekly stipend of 3,850 USD / 2,310 GBP / 4,300 CAD plus benefits, compute funding of about $15k/month, and other research expenses. Fellows also receive direct mentorship and access to shared workspace in Berkeley or London. Application : applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for cohorts starting in July 2026 and beyond.
