Postdoctoral Research Fellow
This postdoctoral research associate position is based in the Department of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, one of the top NIH-funded radiology departments in the United States. The successful candidate will join the lab of Dr. Ganesh Chand, Assistant Professor of Radiology, and will focus on cutting-edge research at the intersection of neuroimaging, artificial intelligence (AI), and statistical genomics. The primary research goal is to identify multimodal biomarkers for brain diseases by leveraging advanced imaging modalities such as MRI, PET, fMRI, and EEG, as well as behavioral, genetic, and proteomic data. The position involves developing and validating new algorithms, applying AI methodologies, and working with large-scale ('big data') studies in health and disease, including Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, psychosis, and autism. The lab collaborates with major research universities and neuro-related industries worldwide, providing a rich environment for interdisciplinary research and professional growth. Responsibilities include assisting with grant preparation, designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and managing complex datasets, developing and documenting image analysis pipelines, and publishing research findings. The role also involves maintaining high ethical standards, adhering to university policies, and engaging in collaborative teamwork. Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal degree. While no specific certifications or prior work experience are required, preferred qualifications include experience with multi-omics data analysis, neuroimaging-behavior or neuroimaging-genetics analysis, and familiarity with AI, neuroimaging, and statistical genetics. Skills in 3D imaging, coding (Python, MATLAB, R), data analysis, EEG, GWAS, MRI, PET/CT, and scientific writing are highly valued. The position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package.
