Postdoctoral Research Opportunity in Scaling of LNOI Photonic Integrated Circuits

Postdoctoral research opportunity in scaling of LNOI photonic integrated circuits at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign . The project focuses on very large-scale photonic integration (VLPI) , combining foundry services with in-house nanofabrication to achieve major scaling of lithium niobate photonic integrated circuits . The work is described as an upcoming research project and is expected to begin as early as Summer 2026 . Research areas/keywords: photonic integrated circuits, thin-film lithium niobate on insulator (LNOI), nanofabrication, foundry-based fabrication, experimental photonics, integrated optics, very large-scale photonic integration. Eligibility highlights: applicants must have a PhD with experimental work and publications in photonic integrated circuits, especially on LNOI or comparable platforms. Foundry experience is welcome. The position is restricted to US citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) .
