and the UniTrento C3A. This is a 3-year, English-taught doctoral programme focused on research with real-world impact in
agriculture

environmental science

biotechnology

climate resilience

data-driven innovation
, and related agrifood topics.
The call offers
9 fully funded PhD positions
: 7 scholarships reserved for predefined research topics and 2 additional scholarships for outstanding candidates proposing innovative projects aligned with C3A activities. The scholarship amount is
€21,750 per year
(about
€1,650/month
) for three years.
Reserved research topics include areas such as sediment regime and river restoration, valorization of agro-industrial by-products and waste, copper dependence and ecological resilience in organic viticulture, fruit quality in apple, cold-tolerant alpine bacteria, fungal-rich microbiomes, and research data management in agriculture. The programme is designed for candidates interested in sustainable agriculture, ecosystem protection, alpine environments, biotechnology, and quantitative/data-oriented research.
Eligibility:
applicants must hold a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent qualification suitable for doctoral admission. Candidates expecting to graduate by 31 October 2026 may apply conditionally, but must complete the degree by 6 November 2026. The application requires academic documents, CV, thesis summary, statement of purpose, a short research project, and any optional supporting materials such as language certificates or publications.
